The Night Templer
Stover Country Park, Newton Abbot, TQ12 6QG
Sat 19th Jan 2019, 6pm (kids races 5pm)
A brand new 10k route from Stover Park, in Teignrace next to Stover School and set within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. OK we’ve stretched the imagery of the Knights Templar a little: The Templer Way, which forms part of this lovely lakeside route, and joins the Stover Canal, was constructed by James Templer who once owned Stover House where Stover School now stands. The route reached up to the granite tracks of Dartmoor, which is why we love the link so much!
It’s a fairly flat route on compact earth tracks through woods and fields, as well as a river bank section next to the Teign if you’re doing the 10k. This event is ideal for all levels of runner from those chasing a ‘night PB’ to absolute beginners. Maps and profiles at the links below. More details coming soon.
NEW KIDS RACES
This venue is ideal for kids too so we’ve added two kids races taking place at 5pm. There’s a 1K for under 8s and a 2K for children aged 8-11.
You must bring a head torch. The running surface is generally fairly smooth so ideal for beginners and fast runners alike.
Race entry includes: electronic chip timing, fully marked out course using poles, arrows & flashing lights , feed station, Birch wood finisher’s medal, bottled water for all finishers, free number transfer if you are unable to run, category prizes & spot prizes (via our free to join Strava club).
Team Competition & Series Points
We now have an optional team competition. If you don’t have a team use your club name which will also qualify for the team competition. The team’s time is the time of the first three team members to cross the line added together. Your best 4 results from 7 races count for Series Points. However if you only manage two or three races you’ll still appear in the results
