BICTON COLLEGE, BUDLEIGH SALTERTON, EX9 7BY
SAT 2nd MAR 2019, 7.30PM (KIDS RACES 6.30PM)
Online Entries Now Closed. We will have some on-the-day entries but please arrive in good time. All event details are in the RACE MANUAL
The route is relatively flat compared with our Dartmoor races. It can be dry, but there will be muddy bits to negotiate. The first kilometre at the beginning and end is on the road.. Hot and cold food ill be available in the college’s cafe. Parking is available free of charge, in front of the college.
The Battle of Woodbury Common is our newest addition to the night run series and will start and end at Bicton College. We’ve brought back the half marathon distance and included a shorter 10k event, both of which will complete a circuit of Woodbury Common.
This follows the helm of Uphams Plantation and Crook Plantation after exiting Bicton College along the back entrance. It then skirts Castle Plantation and the half marathon adds on a section through Colaton Raleigh Common towards Hawkerland, similar to the Bicton Blister.
NEW CANICROSS RACES
For the first time we’re offering Canicross races to give people the chance to run with their dogs.
NEW KIDS RACES
This venue is ideal for kids too so we’ve added two kids races taking place at 6.30pm. There’s a 1K for under 8s and a 2K for children aged 8-11.
You must bring a head torch. Surfaces are mixed but generally less gnarly than our Dartmoor races.
Race entry includes: electronic chip timing, fully marked out course using poles, arrows & flashing lights , feed station, Birch wood finisher’s medal, bottled water for all finishers, free number transfer if you are unable to run, category prizes & spot prizes (via our free to join Strava club).
TEAM COMPETITION & SERIES POINTS
We now have an optional team competition. If you don’t have a team use your club name which will also qualify for the team competition. The team’s time is the time of the first three team members to cross the line added together. Your best 4 results from 7 races count for Series Points. However if you only manage two or three races you’ll still appear in the results
