Dart to Dart 8 mile and 5.5 mile
Fri 4th Nov, 7pm (registration opens at 5.30pm)
Everyone loved our new venue at Dartmeet and the new courses so we expect this race to back at about the same time next year.
As the series is now established on Dartmoor, we wanted it to be properly embedded on the moor, so what better place to start and finish than where the East and West Dart meet (or diverge, depending on which way you look at it!). The long 8.5 mile course will head over the bridge and a through Brimpts Farm across the moor to Bellever, before reaching Bellever Bridge and heading south to Sherwell Farm and descending just below Yartor. This big dipper contours the hill below Yar tor, overlooking the fulcrum of the two Darts, adjacent to the road, which is well known to anyone who has cycled or run up there!
The shorter 10k route is based on this year’s Something Wild Festival 10k but in reverse, taking the same route as the long course but crossing the stepping stones at Bellever and the return home. But of course it’s all very different in the dark!
Race entry includes: electronic chip timing, fully marked out course using poles, arrows & flashing lights , feed station, Birch wood finisher’s medal, bottled water for all finishers, free number transfer if you are unable to run, category prizes & spot prizes (via our free to join Strava club).
We now have an optional team competition. If you don’t have a team use your club name which will also qualify for the team competition. The team’s time is the time of the first three team members to cross the line added together.
